LYDIA Counseling Center is focused on serving children and families in the community, especially those with limited resources who are struggling with issues such as trauma, adoption, substitute care, and child behavior problems. Additionally, we provide individual and marital counseling from a faith-based perspective. Our clinicians use a strengths-based approach to provide individualized care to clients. Assessment for & referral to all services needed for the children, the biological parents and the foster parents. Coordinate & facilitate communication between service providers. Provide reasonable efforts for biological parents through ongoing assessment and referrals.

It was a rather tall building and I accidentally went to high up in the elevator getting ready for the Easter egg hunt. I had been putting posters up all through the building. As soon as I got out of the elevator, I was stopped by the nurse and they explained why I could not enter the floor. I remember it being a clean, larger facility with a lot of land attached to it. In comparison to other facilities is was much more friendly and brighter. Though the surrounding neighborhood leaves something to be desired.

Provides court testimony related to services provided to clients as required. Informs the supervisor of any legal issues related to agency services. Work with counseling center to establish and onboard new insurance companies upon which we can accept patients and submit claims. Children ages 6-18 receive intensive behavioral and emotional therapy to be able to successfully reintegrate into a positive family environment. LYDIA Home Association is a Christian, nonprofit organization that has been serving children in Chicago since 1916. Anything you can share will help other families choose the perfect community. We are looking for a few volunteers to serve as administrative support at our front desk. We are hoping to cover a total of 40 hours a week between 9 a.m.

Must be a qualified mental health professional and have a master’s degree or doctoral level degree from an accredited school of psychology or social work or an equivalent degree in a human services field. Must possess skills to work effectively with children and their families. Must demonstrate good writing and social skills in order to communicate and work cooperatively with members of the child care team and the various systems and agencies in the community.
